English as a Second Language (ESL) Programs

Our ESL programs are designed to help students achieve proficiency in the English language, including Standard ESL, Semi-Intensive ESL, and Intensive ESL. 

Each program consists of four levels, Beginning, Intermediate I, Intermediate II, and Advanced, and is designed to cater to the unique needs of students at different stages of their language learning journey.

Hollywood Education Institute offers in-person and distance education, providing flexibility and convenience for students who may have different learning styles and schedules.

Standard ESL

This program provides a structured foundation for English language learning, with an emphasis on developing communication skills through a biblical lens of truthfulness, kindness, and clarity.

Semi-Intensive ESL

Designed for deeper engagement, this program encourages students to explore language and culture through classroom discussions, service-learning activities, and biblical themes.

Intensive ESL

The most immersive language track at HEI, this program emphasizes rapid development in all English skills while nurturing spiritual maturity and intercultural grace.

Standard ESL

Level: Beginning, Intermediate I, Intermediate II, and Advanced. 

Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • Edit sentences and apply proper grammar, vocabulary, and mechanics rules across various topics.
  • Compose narrative, descriptive, and process paragraphs in English using appropriate word order while incorporating Christian principles.
  • Participate during class activities using comprehensible pronunciation, stress, and intonation to effectively communicate in English.
  • Interpret speeches and presentations on questions grounded in a Christian foundation.
  • Define words used in different structures and style text types by recognizing the Christian topics, main ideas, and supporting details in paragraphs.

Semi-Intensive ESL

Level: Beginning, Intermediate I, Intermediate II, and Advanced. 

Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • Express ideas coherently in writing and speech while integrating Christian values such as encouragement, empathy, and accountability.
  • Engage in respectful classroom dialogue that models grace-filled communication and active listening.
  • Interpret media and texts through both academic and spiritual lenses, distinguishing truth from distortion.
  • Apply faith-informed reasoning to group projects and real-life scenarios.

Intensive ESL

Level: Beginning, Intermediate I, Intermediate II, and Advanced. 

Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • Compose academic essays and arguments that incorporate ethical perspectives and biblical references where appropriate.
  • Deliver oral presentations on personal, academic, and spiritual themes, demonstrating confidence and respect.
  • Collaborate with classmates from diverse backgrounds in a spirit of unity, demonstrating the body of Christ in action.
  • Discern authorial intent and worldview in texts and speeches, evaluating messages against scriptural truth.
